Why Castile soap?
Just as it is important for us humans to have an alkaline body for health reasons, so too is it for dogs.
Each person and each dog has its own pH level and as dogs are not humans, it is important to not use human products on dogs.
Dogs should have an alkaline body level of between 6 -8,5.
We therefore need to ensure that the shampoo we use to wash them, has at least an alkaline level of above 7.
That is where Castile soap comes in: With an alkaline level of 8,9, as well as being unscented and a natural product, it is perfect for our fur-kids.

Why Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil has a neutral pH and it is very soothing to the skin.
Coconut oil has natural antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties.
This makes it ideal as a natural topical antibiotic and the perfect alternative to nasty chemical-based products.
Coconut oil can be used to help heal cuts and wounds.
Coconut oil is also a great moisturizer as it hydrates the skin.
This will help to not only alleviate itching but also to make his/her fur shiny and glossy.
It is also known to help repel ticks and fleas.

Why ACV?
Apple Cider Vinegar adds a bit of Acidity to the shampoo to balance it all out.
A healthy dog pH level improves the fur-kids ‘digestion.
It further helps with repelling fleas, assisting with relief to hot spots, helps to keep the ears clean and it rids the skin of bacteria.

What does Aloe Vera do?
Aloe has been shown to have antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, making it soothing to the skin.
Aloe is particularly efficient in catering to the needs of dry and itchy skin, therefore it is ideal for all skin types because of the gentle effect on skin and coat while removing dirt and odours efficiently.
The soap-free formula makes it a safe choice for any pet skin type that won’t cause irritation or inflammation.
We make our own Aloe Vera gel, to ensure we get only the best and fresh’s product for our gentle care shampoo.

As per Shawn Messonnier, DVM, in his book The Natural Vet’s Guide to Preventing and Treating Cancer in Dogs:
“Acemannan, a polysaccharide immune stimulant found in aloe vera, may be helpful for pets with allergies, skin infections, and other diseases, including cancer, that suppress the immune system Acemannan is approved for use as part of the therapy for treating fibrosarcoma tumours in pets”
