Benefits and information:

Organic 55% Hemp/45% Cotton blend

Unlike many detox methods, castor oil packs do not have negative side effects and many users notice an immediate improvement in their sleep, energy levels, and clearing of their skin symptoms.

Designed as an easy and mess-free castor oil pack, its unique shape allows easy use on different areas of the body. The top center dip allows for use under the ribs as a side pack and the bottom center dip assists with uterine fibroids or endometriosis.

Benefits of Castor Oil Packs:

  • Liver and gallbladder detoxification.
  • Deep sleep and relaxation.
  • Improve digestion and bowel movements.
  • Balance microbiome.
  • Enhances antioxidant levels, and eliminate toxins.
  • Reduce inflammation, alkalinization, and optimise the immune system.
  • Hormonal problems such as estrogen dominance, PCOS, menopause, PMS, PMDD, period problems of all types, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, fibrocystic breasts and significantly improving the pain associated with this.
  • Deep sleep and relaxation.

A study from 1999 found that ‘with a minimal 2-hour therapy period, castor oil packs produced a “significant” temporary increase in the number of T-11 cells that increased over a 7-hour period following treatment and then returned to normal levels within 24 hours later. The T-11 cell increase represents a general boost in the body’s specific defence status. Lymphocytes actively defend the health of the body by forming antibodies against pathogens and their toxins. T-cell lymphocytes originate from bone marrow and the thymus gland as small lymphocytes that identify and kill viruses, fungi, bacteria, and cancer cells. T-11 cell lymphocytes supply a fundamental antibody capability to keep the specific defence system strong.’

How to use:  You can use this pack as a hot or cold pack. It can be worn as frequently as possible. Ideally, every day or alternative day.

Hot pack:

Prepare a comfortable area for you to lie down with old towels, as Castor oil can stain. Prepare a hot water bottle or heat pack. Pour roughly 2 tablespoons of Earths Essentials Castor Oil onto the fleece side of the pack. The pack should be saturated but not dripping. Apply the saturated pack to the body area planned for treatment. Cover the top side of the saturated pack with a piece of plastic sheeting (a zip lock bag can work). Don’t allow the plastic to touch your skin. Apply the hot water bottle on top of the plastic. The pack should remain in place for 60 minutes. The skin may be cleansed afterward by dusting bicarbonate of soda onto the area and then rinsing in a shower. Store the pack in a glass container in the freezer for future use. Upon next use, you may add a small amount of Earths Essentials Castor Oil to bring the pack back to saturation.

Cold pack:

Wear old clothes if choosing to wear a cold pack as Castor oil can stain. Pour roughly 2 tablespoons Earths Essentials Castor Oil onto the fleece side of the pack. The pack should be saturated but not dripping. Apply the saturated pack to the body area planned for treatment. Wear an old baggy t-shirt. The pack should remain in place for at least 60 minutes or ideally overnight, this will enhance the benefits. The skin may be cleansed afterward by dusting bicarbonate of soda onto the area and then rinsing in a shower. Store the pack in a glass container in the freezer for future use. Upon next use, you may add a small amount of Earths Essentials Castor Oil to bring the pack back to saturation.

Place pack under the right ribcage. This area covers many of the digestive organs, including the stomach, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine, adrenals, and kidneys. This also includes the Omentum and all the many lymph nodes located in this area.

For uterus:

Place the pack in the center of your abdomen. Low enough to cover your uterus, as well as your liver.

Note:

* Castor oil packs cannot be shared between different people.

* Castor oil packs should not be used while pregnant as they are known to stimulate contraction of the smooth muscle of the uterus, even though some research says that this is not the case.

* Use during period with caution.

*If you’re tired after doing a castor oil pack, which is rare, it’s likely because your body is sluggish and it’s doing more work than it is used to. Keep on doing castor oil packs as they will help with the rebalancing. It will improve with time.

As with anything, and in rare cases with castor oil, you can have a hypersensitivity reaction to the oil when putting it on the skin. Typically, this would present as a rash on the skin in the area where the castor oil was applied. Should this occur, cease treatment. Skin reaction should dissipate after 24 hours.

Washing instructions: Washing your castor oil pack can be easy. Ideally, your goal is to not wash it until necessary. Instead, be careful to keep the oil in the middle of the pack, away from the seams.

If you wish to wash the pack:

  1. Soak overnight in a bowl in a mixture of hot water, bicarbonate of soda, and natural dish/castile soap.
  2. In the morning, hand wash with hot water and natural dish/castile soap, wring it out very well.
  3. Take an old tea towel (that you don’t mind ruining) and lay the outer layer of the pack against it. Roll the pack up in the tea towel, blotting out the oil until there is little oily residue left on the outer layer.
  4. Hang it to dry. A new pack is recommended after three washes or when pack no longer functions correctly.
