Moducare® is a concentration of naturally occurring substances found in fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts. This tried and tested blend of phytonutrients helps modulate the immune system and manage chronic inflammation. Plant sterols and sterolins in the clinically proven ratio of 100:1 support weakened immune systems and regulate the overactive immune responses present in autoimmune conditions. The patented Moducare® formula helps protect the body from degenerative signs of ageing and a broad spectrum of chronic disease.

Clinically proven support to restore immune balance. .Moducare® should be viewed as an adjunct to help shift the immune responses to a more balanced status and to control chronic inflammation. Moducare® is a safe, effective immune modulator and has been shown, both in vitro as well as in vivo, to have the following immunological activities:

• Enhances the cellular division of peripheral blood lymphocytes when these are activated by stimuli [1].
• Enhances the killing ability/ cytotoxicity of specialized cells responsible for immune surveillance, namely the Natural Killer cells (NK cells) .
• Enhances the ability of T lymphocytes to release the factors that ultimately regulate cellular functions in the body. These T cells (TH1 helper cells) are antagonist to the activity of other helper cells (TH2) that  promote the functions of B lymphocytes .
• The mixture of sterols / sterolins has anti-inflammatory properties by switching off the release of pro-inflammatory factors such as Interleukin 6 (116) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-a) from activated    monocytes .
• Increases the secretion of IL12, the cytokine released from antigen-presenting cells that promotes the differentiation of precursor T helper cells into the more polarized TH1 cells.
• The mixture has adreno-cortical effects by decreasing the cortisol: DHEA ratio suggestive that it enhances the synthesis of DHEA, which ultimately, decreases the release of cortisol.

Moducare® is well tolerated. However, when the immune system becomes balanced, some sensitive individuals may experience symptoms that indicate the body is trying to rid itself of toxins. These symptoms are temporary and may include digestive problems, rashes, headaches and fatigue.

Moducare® can be taken with other natural supplements. There is no conclusive evidence to suggest an interaction with medication.

Immune supplements are not to be used by organ and tissue transplant recipients, including bone marrow and corneal transplants, or individuals with a history of diabetes or multiple sclerosis, unless on the advice of and under the direct supervision of a healthcare practitioner. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have sitosterolemia. Some individuals may experience temporary digestive problems, rashes, headache and fatigue.

The key difference between Moducare® and immune system “boosters” is that boosting a dysfunctional immune system may not solve the problem. Some “boosters” are not recommended for prolonged use.

It is suggested to take Moducare® for two to three months before evaluating the benefits.

Recommended dosage:
Adults: Take one capsule three times daily OR two capsules upon rising and one capsule before bed.
Children: One capsule per day for children under five; two per day for children between five and 12; children over 12 can take the adult dose.
