Ingredients and Benefits:
The Benefits of Collagen.
Collagen production and repair in the body declines with age, and for this reason research into collagen has exploded in the past few years. Sadly many products have a boat-load of additives and I am simply not willing to use anything that was not pure – I am a fanatic when it comes to what goes into my body.
This led me ultimately to producing my own Sally-Ann Creed Collagen, with absolutely nothing added. Having fillers and preservatives, artificial sweeteners and other unnecessary additives will interfere greatly with the process of rebuilding the body, which really is what you are taking it for in the first place. Collagen is the most abundant source of protein in the human body – but declines quite radically with age. Collagen is excellent for the following:
Collagen is pure, 100% protein, but does not have the dairy component that many powders have – if you are lactose or casein intolerant dairy isn’t an option. I am opposed to legume powders (like pea protein for example) as there are too many problems here, and it’s not complete protein anyway, high in phytates and lectins etc. If you want something you won’t react to, something pure, this may be your go-to new product. It’s tasteless, has around 20g protein per serving and has no carb content.
Collagen literally ‘holds everything together’ in the body – it’s in your bones, skin, ligaments, joints – it’s everywhere. I have found my back problem has dramatically improved since I’ve been on it. I’d been thrown from several horses as a child and was left with a weak back. It would often ‘go out’, necessitating visits to the physio all my life. Since I’ve been on collagen though, my hair is thicker, skin smoother and the back problem is no more (my physio thinks he’s offended me). The journal Pharmacology and Physiology published a ‘gold standard’ double blind, placebo controlled study in 2014 which demonstrated that just 12 weeks of collagen supplementation improved skin elasticity, structure and moisture visibly.
As we age, collagen levels decrease, skin sags and joints ache through a process called ptosis. A lack of collagen also has knock-on effects like instability and weakness in our organs, the heart and prostate may enlarge due to lack of collagen and bone begins to lose density as collagen levels drop. Collagen is like a cushion between your joints and your bones, it keeps your arteries strong so as to resist plaque formation and keeps your skin moist, plump and supple. With declining digestive capacity (illness, age, compromised gut function), protein absorption from food is often incomplete leading to very large peptide chains in the body which cannot be effectively utilised. A good hydrolysed collagen will be extremely easy to absorb, and you will actually notice the results very soon. My hairdresser couldn’t believe how much thicker my hair had become – something I wasn’t even looking for, but was delighted to hear.
How long will your collagen last?
If you take ONE scoop a day, here’s how long your collagen will last approximately:
200g = 30-40 days
350g = 60-70 days
500g = 90-100 days
650g = approx 120 days
Our collagen and gelatine granules are halaal certified by the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC). They are Kosher certified at source.

I’ve been using Sally Ann’s Hydrolysed Collagen and I’ve noticed that I no longer have joint pain in my hands (which I’ve often had before) or the clicking sounds that my body makes when I get up after sitting for a while or after a night’s sleep. And also, bonus, my skin is feeling and looking great! But I really feel that it’s working best for my joints.
